Vortex, Engine Division of the OTK Kart Group, designs, builds and develops engines for racing karts.It was founded in 1994, and since its debut it has collected numerous successes in major races. The first world title came in 1996 and to date, in the different categories, the world championships won are 17.Vortex’s production is divided between top class RACING engines, destined for international competitions, and ROK engines , performance and reliable, designed for the Rok Cup, the one-make championship by Vortex, spread all over the globe, which allows all drivers to test themselves and grow in the world of karting.For both product lines, the methodology, care and research of performance as well as quality are the same. A distinctive point of the Italian factory is its ability to manage the production of its engines in every aspect: from design to development, all phases are carried out in-house from start to finish.In fact, at Vortex, in the new Pavia headquarters inaugurated in 2012, there is a place for the technical department (which takes advantage of 2D and 3D software), the production department (equipped with five-, four-, and three-axis CNC machining centers) and the division in charge of quality control, in which every single part transits to be carefully measured with an instrumental precision that reaches a tenth of a thousandth of a millimeter.Vortex’s pride and joy is the incessant activity of its R&D department, which, in addition to taking advantage of the company’s in-house test benches, also benefits from the support of the related official racing teams, Tony Kart Racing Team and Kosmic Racing Department.
